Cataract surgery involves the removal of the existing cloudy lens and replacement with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). I would be pleased to discuss your requirements in order to ensure that the outcome of your cataract surgery perfectly matches your lifestyle.
Lens choices for cataract surgery
I offer several different types of intraocular lens, depending on your individual requirements:
- High quality aspheric monofocal lenses
- Toric lenses (to correct astigmatism - where the eye is 'rugby ball-shaped' rather than spherical).
- Multifocal lenses
Many patients have cataracts in both eyes. In this case it is usual to operate on the worst eye first and then assess the balance between the new lens and the existing eye in order to select the ideal power for the second lens.
Safe and successful cataract surgery
Modern cataract surgery is very safe and painless. It is usually performed under local anaesthetic without the need for an injection - gentle numbing drops are all that are required for most patients. You can return home within a couple of hours, and the vast majority of cataract patients experience a very quick recovery.
I undertake hundreds of cataract operations each year. I carry out continuous audit of my surgical success rates, and am proud to maintain amongst the lowest complication rate in the region.
I am pleased to offer cataract surgery to patients in Norwich, from across Norfolk, Suffolk and beyond.
The standard all-inclusive package price for cataract surgery is
£2,999
