I came to Norfolk as a consultant ophthalmologist in 2005, and have worked at both the James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
I take great pride in providing a professional and friendly service - my patients' feedback is consistently extremely positive, for every aspect of their experience. As Clinical Director and founding member of East Point Vision, my private practice is measured by the rigorous standards set by the Care Quality Commission.
Specialising in refractive Cataract Surgery, Corneal care and general eye health, I trained in Leeds and Nottingham before gaining international sub-specialty expertise in Sydney, Australia, where I developed my skills in corneal surgery, corneal transplantation and complex cataract surgery.
For six years I held the position of Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology at JPUH, and am a senior surgical skills trainer at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. I am also Regional Programme Director for the Cataract module for Ophthalmic Practitioner Training for the Eastern region and head up the Cataract service at James Paget University Hospital (JPUH).
Over the years I have been published widely in many international journals, and am a reviewer for Eye, the national journal of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. I am a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
I am married, with two grown-up daughters and a labradoodle, Stanley.
In my spare time I enjoy cycling, taking part in many long distance charity rides; as well as being a bit of a pianist, guitar botherer and photographer.
